Towards The "Fastest" Scripting Language
Ever since I've come up with the idea of B-program I've been trying to find (or create) the "fastest" scripting language in existence, and by "fastest" I mean in terms of "writing speed" (i.e. how little friction you feel when translating the algorithm in your brain into the code you write) and "implementing speed" (i.e. how fast can you write an interpretr for it). The latest answer I've come up with is Tachyon, the skeleton of a family of stack-based concatenative languages.
I really don't want to have anything to do with stack-based languages due to previous bad experiences w/ a few seriously wretched individuals, but unfortunately I tried to find a simpler model to no avail. (TRAC never managed to be truly simpler.) In terms of "writing speed", one might also argue that the way stack-based language express things fits the imperative mindset more, so there's inherently less friction than a common imperative language e.g. Golang. The current demo of Tachyon took me only a day of absent-minded coding (75% of which is spent on trying to add a slightly more good-looking REPL and fixing the bugs of it); I can already imagine how the language and this implementation could be developed further, including a possible translator to C.
